Responsible for monitoring safety procedures and ergonomics to ensure operations are safe and fully compliant with all OSHA standards.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

FOCUS AREA #1 Workplace Health & Safety

  • Cultivate commitment and enthusiasm for safety across the facility to maintain and continuously improve the work environment
  • Organize and instruct DC safety training including but not limited to forklift training, certification and retraining procedures, safe lifting, case cutting, etc….
  • Ensure accurate completion of accident/incident forms and ensure timely completion of post-incident investigations with appropriate follow up and actions if needed.
  • Provide accident prevention and investigation training to leadership teams
  • Continuous improvement of our safety program by benchmarking industry best practices, report on health and safety awareness issues and statistics
  • Evaluate ergonomic opportunities and review with leadership team as necessary
  • Lead a safety team of associates and leadership, conduct safety meetings and lead first responder efforts for the facility
  • Track and measure safety statistics and report out as needed
  • Lead 5S efforts across the building
  • Purchase and manage safety materials and supplies
  • Partner with Talent to help manage worker compensation cases

FOCUS AREA #2 Safety policies and Procedures

  • Audit Safety Policy adherence within the DC and ensure compliance by all associates and leadership teams
  • Ensure building adherence to safe work practices, review annually for any needed updates.
  • Update and maintain safety policy and procedures in collaboration with HR and Sr. leadership to promote a health and safety conscious culture
  • Ensure building and workforce compliance with all applicable OSHA safety standards.

FOCUS AREA #3 Communication and Collaboration

  • Monitor company health and safety policy and procedure performance of all teams, sharing best practices across departments and identifying areas of opportunity.
  • Effectively partner with Area and Shift Managers to ensure work areas are clean and safe.
  • Maintain a high standard of communication through team meetings, consultation, review and one-to-one meetings with cross-functional partners.
  • Role model the Company Values, as well as the corporate and warehouse Safety Policies.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES NOT COVERED IN FOCUS AREAS

  • Any additional tasks required by Manager.

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
