The Role
Drive exponential growth for Tala by building the product toolkit and strategy to unlock transformational partnerships across Tala’s global markets.  As a key member of Tala’s product leadership team, you will be responsible for bringing new partnerships to market that enable financial access for underserved audiences at scale.  You will collaborate closely with country squads and a cross-functional global team to achieve exceptional business results while delivering on Tala’s vision of financial agency for all.

What you’ll do:

    • Partner with engineering as the founding member of a lean and nimble cross-discipline team responsible for developing the feature set and strategy to enable partnerships at scale
    • Design, build, and ship new product infrastructure to enable large, scalable B2B2C credit growth partnerships on Tala’s new platform
    • Design, build, and ship 2+ scalable partnerships in Mexico or Philippines in 2021, working in collaboration with the respective in market teams
    • Develop and define Tala’s partnerships strategy and vision, assuming ultimate responsibility for driving audience growth via partnerships in collaboration with country squads and key cross functional stakeholders
    • Build business cases and drive outcome oriented product prioritization decisions, following through with efficient execution and strong go to market plans
    • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights coupled with a deep understanding of both local consumer behavior and the competitive ecosystem to drive outsized impact and ROI
    • Generate strategic and operational alignment across diverse teams including Country Squads and Leadership Teams, Growth, Credit, Finance, Business Intelligence, and other Product Groups through excellent thought leadership, planning and communication
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, acting as the face of Tala in leadership level partner conversations while continuously measuring and optimizing for partnership success
    • Ensure cross-functional teams and new partnerships are informed with a strong understanding of in-country context, user needs, and competitive landscape
    • Actively contribute to product strategy and company culture as a key leader within Tala’s Product team

What you’ll need:

    • 8+ years experience building and launching consumer businesses and products in global markets, with a track record of success in finance, consumer mobile apps or related industries
    • 3+ years experience leading high performance product-oriented teams
    • Demonstrated ability to ship products and deliver meaningful business results
    • Track record of fostering deep industry relationships across geographies and cultures
    • Capable consumer of modern analytics tools with strong data fluency
    • Solid understanding of modern development practices and planning processes
    • Comfort working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with distributed teams
    • Ability to rapidly develop deep understanding of local markets, consumers, and FinTech ecosystems
    • Strong leadership presence with ability to vision set and organize teams
