Senior Accountant, Product Margin

We’re searching for an experienced, razor-sharp Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. The person in this role will be responsible for implementing best-practice policies and procedures that ensure accurate and timely accounting for our rapidly expanding Gross Margin team. Our ideal candidate is a hands-on, disciplined, and detail-oriented self-starter with an eye for process improvement and a knack for working independently in a high-volume environment. What you’ll do:

  • Review and reconcile cost of goods sold on a monthly basis and investigate and resolve any discrepancies
  • Provide data-driven explanations for any material fluctuations related to inventory, including unit cost, quantity changes, and management of our Home Try-On program
  • Act as a key liaison between our Inventory Control, Merchant Planning, and Product Development teams
  • Calculate and manage inventory reserves and review any large fluctuations on a monthly basis
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert within our department for all internal and external inventory-related inquiries, escalating and helping resolve issues as needed
  • Respond to audit requests as well as interdepartmental requests and questions related to inventory and cost of goods sold
  • Mentor, review, and assist staff accountant during month-end close procedures

 

Who you are:

  • Backed by 3–4 years of accounting experience with exposure to inventory accounting
  • The proud owner of a Bachelor of Science in accounting or finance
  • A total Excel expert (keyboard shortcuts are your love language)
  • Always looking for new and innovative ways to work—you’re excited by the challenge of improving and documenting all the processes you can
  • An organized and detail-oriented self-starter, willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
  • A team player and a clear, kind communicator
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

 

Extra Credit:

  • Experience using NetSuite
  • Experience with retail-related accounting
