This role will be recruited virtually. Candidates must be located in Lisbon or willing to relocate to Lisbon once our office reopens. What You Will DoAs a Software Engineer for Carpe Data, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and support innovative software solutions with an agile team utilizing a broad range of technologies. Projects will include development of new and existing customer-facing API offerings, Proof of Concept formation and technical/creative input. We’re looking for a candidate who is excited to develop and implement new technologies, and who enjoys a fast-paced, fun, and collaborative team.ResponsibilitiesBuild highly-scalable and resilient web-services to deliver data to customersWork with QA to build automated test suites to facilitate continuous deploymentHelp ensure our many services retain their consistently low error rates and high availabilityMentor team membersSkillsJava/Scala programmingNoSQL Database design/integrationTesting via unit/integration/e2e testsRESTful API designGit or other version control system3+ years of software development experienceNice to HaveExperience with Amazon Web Services (emphasis on: EC2, ECS, Lambda, Dynamodb, S3)DevOps mindset with an emphasis on scalability and reliabilityExperience managing AWS infrastructure using TerraformFunctional programming (we love monads!)Ability to Dockerize applications, maintain Docker images and create CI/CD pipelines using DockerWhy Carpe Data?We are proud of our commitment to employee development–encouraging opportunities for growth across the organization.
