Sr. Social Media Manager

Job description

The Senior Social Media Manager is a mid-level position on the Client Services team. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that we provide world-class customer service to every STN Digital client. The Senior Social Media Manager is a go-to member of the Client Services team, overseeing active client projects, managing Junior team members, partaking in new business pitches & more.

We’re looking for an energetic, self-motivator with big ideas and a can-do spirit. It is essential to have a deep understanding of the social media landscape, ability to work well under pressure and a constant desire to find strategic solutions to unforeseen challenges.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management
    1. Oversee the active projects between clients and STN team
    2. Act as liaison between clients and STN creative team
    3. Develop project timelines with Creative Project Managers and guarantee client deadlines are met
    4. Ensure projects remain within budget
  2. Product Management
    1. Ensure quality control and innovation for all projects
    2. Understand client’s social landscape and brand guidelines
    3. Manage creative process from end-to-end: ideation, work orders, pitches, etc.
  3. Client Management
    1. Keep accurate internal documentation
    2. Respond to emails quickly and be a go-to resource for clients daily
    3. Anticipate client needs and upcoming milestones
    4. Involvement in onboarding and setting up new client projects as directed
    5. Act as senior representation on calls
  4. Innovation
    1. Ideate creative concepts for active client projects
    2. Constantly search for the latest creative and social trends
  5. Team Management
    1. Assist with pod oversight including but not limited to managing creative projects, team member morale, STN procedures and more
    2. Directly manage Junior Account Managers on pod as assigned by Director and/or Account Supervisor
    3. Assist with scheduling, time back and holiday coverage as needed
  6. New Business Pitches
    1. Involvement in new business pitches – active involvement in development of strategy, ideation and internal/client meetings

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience as Social Media Manager or comparable role at an agency or sports team/network/brand
  • Has served as a trusted contact and resource for clients
  • Sports and entertainment knowledge preferred
  • 1 – 2 years of team management experience preferred
  • Competency with Google Suite
  • Strong social media trend and best practices knowledge
  • Immaculate attention to detail
  • Ability to manage large campaigns with minimal oversight
  • Excellent presentation skills
