Warby Parker was founded with a mission: to inspire and impact the world with vision, purpose, and style.
We’re constantly asking ourselves how we can do more and make a greater impact—and that starts by reimagining everything that a company and industry can be. We want to demonstrate that a business can scale, be profitable, and do good in the world—without charging a premium for it. And we’ve learned that it takes creativity, empathy, and innovation to achieve that goal.
Since the day we launched in 2010, we’ve pioneered ideas, designed products, and developed technologies that help people see. We offer everything you need for happier eyes at a price that leaves you with money in your pocket, from designer-quality glasses and contacts to eye exams and vision tests, and you can meet us online, at our stores, or even in your home. Wherever and whenever you need it, we’re there to make exceptional vision care simple and accessible. (Delightful, too.)
Ultimately, we believe in vision for all, which is why for every pair of glasses or sunglasses we sell, a pair of glasses is distributed to someone in need through our Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program. Over eight million pairs of glasses have been distributed—and we’re only just getting started.
Culture at Warby Parker
At Warby Parker, you can look forward to company outings (costumes encouraged!), learning opportunities, and just great company. Events like book clubs and intramural sports liven things up, but it’s hard to beat the joy of working with smart, curious, and kind people.
Doing good is central to the Warby Parker experience, and we’ve created a space in which everyone is encouraged to engage with the community, both in and out of the office; each employee is given 16 hours of paid leave a year to volunteer. We also celebrate employees’ third anniversaries with a very special trip to a country where our Buy a Pair, Give a Pair efforts are located. Attendees travel with team members from across the company to meet our nonprofit partners, see the program in action and spend some time serving the local community—because there is nothing like seeing the life-changing impact of a pair of glasses up close.
Teammates can also connect around common interests, backgrounds, and identities, no matter their home base, through our various employee resource groups. That sense of community and belonging keeps us excited to walk through the door every day, wherever that door maybe.
Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity at Warby Parker
We’re driven to continue building a workplace, based on inclusive behaviors and equitable systems, where all employees can bring their authentic selves, feel engaged, and share their perspectives as a valued members of Team Warby. (We’re happy to say that the Human Rights Campaign has named us the Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ employees!)
Our Racial Equity Strategy transparently outlines our promise to fostering inclusivity, equity, and diversity within the company and beyond. (You can read our entire commitment here, and we’ll be providing updates in our annual Impact Reports.) This is an evolution of the work we’ve been passionate about since Warby Parker’s founding—and a look ahead at work still to come.
